Sporting CP striker Victor Gyokeres has reportedly had a change of stance and is now open to a summer transfer to Manchester United. This shift comes despite the Red Devils' lack of Champions League football a factor previously thought to be decisive in Gyokeres' decision-making.
The 27-year-old Swede had been heavily linked with a move to Arsenal, who remain in the market for a proven No. 9. However, Manchester United may now have the edge due to manager Erik ten Hag’s growing interest and the possibility of a reunion between Gyokeres and former Sporting boss Ruben Amorim.
Although there have been no formal talks between United and Sporting, the Portuguese side are believed to be seeking around £60 million significantly less than Gyokeres’ £85 million release clause. A verbal agreement between the player and the club could facilitate a move for the reduced fee.
Arsenal Prioritising Benjamin Sesko Over Gyokeres
Despite being long-time admirers of Gyokeres, Arsenal are reportedly prioritising RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko. Sporting director Andrea Berta has been in simultaneous negotiations for both players, but the club’s hierarchy has decided to move forward with a push for the 21-year-old Slovenian talent.
Arsenal’s need for a centre-forward has become more pressing after multiple transfer windows without a new signing in that position. Sesko is seen as a better long-term investment and stylistic fit for Mikel Arteta’s system.
Victor Osimhen Facing Al Hilal or Manchester United Decision
Another top striker on the market, Victor Osimhen, must make a swift decision between a big-money move to Saudi Arabia or holding out for Manchester United. Al Hilal have reportedly offered the Napoli forward a staggering £34 million per year, nearly triple the wages offered by Galatasaray, where he impressed on loan last season with 37 goals in 41 appearances.
Napoli are holding out for Osimhen’s full £63 million release clause, but Galatasaray are negotiating a lower fee. Al Hilal are ready to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic to make room for Osimhen, especially after missing out on United captain Bruno Fernandes.
United remain interested but have not made an official offer, leaving Osimhen with a tough call: take the Saudi millions or wait for a Premier League dream move.
Liverpool Reject Barcelona's Bid for Luis Diaz Amid Contract Uncertainty
Liverpool have turned down an approach from Barcelona for Colombian winger Luis Diaz. The 28-year-old, who has two years left on his current contract, remains a key part of new manager Arne Slot’s plans for next season.
Barcelona’s sporting director Deco contacted Liverpool this week, but was swiftly told that the player is not for sale. Despite interest from both La Liga and Saudi Pro League clubs, Liverpool are firm on keeping Diaz — unless a major offer arrives or the player actively seeks a move.
There has been no progress in extending Diaz’s contract, but for now, he is expected to stay at Anfield.
